Manchester United fans react to Romelu Lukaku’s first touch v Valerenga

It took Romelu Lukaku just two minutes to find the back of the net against Valerenga this evening.
The Belgian striker was sent on by Jose Mourinho at half-time, coming on for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and scored his third goal for Manchester United with a header.
Lukaku’s goal made it 2-0 to United after Marouane Fellaini, strongly linked with a move to Galatasaray this weekend, broke the deadlock shortly before half-time.
It’s been an encouraging start to life as a United player for Lukaku, who completed his £75 million transfer from Everton earlier this month.
As well as scoring against Valerenga this evening, the 24-year-old also netted against Real Salt Lake and Manchester City on United’s pre-season tour of the USA.
Lukaku will be acutely aware that bigger tests are just around the corner - starting next week against Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup - but he’ll also be pleased with how quickly he’s settling in with the Red Devils.
Some people seem desperate for Lukaku to fail
Because United have paid out such an eye-watering fee for Lukaku, there are many football fans - supporters of rival clubs and neutrals - who clearly want the striker to fail at Old Trafford.
Some people believe he isn’t good enough for Jose Mourinho’s side and his first touch is often criticised. Sometimes fairly, other times unfairly.
The Belgium international has worked hard to improve his first touch over the past 18-24 months and Mourinho wouldn’t have brought him to Old Trafford if he felt he wasn’t cut out for the highest level.
United fans get their own back on Lukaku's haters
United fans have defended Lukaku since he signed for their club and today they had the chance to get their own back on his critics.
Lukaku’s goal against Valerenga proved that his first touch isn’t so bad after all.
Here's the goal...
