Arsene Wenger has heaped praise on Sead Kolasinac following his strong start to life as an Arsenal player.

The left-back became Arsenal’s first signing of the summer after joining the Gunners on a free transfer from Schalke as Wenger moved quickly to bolster his defensive options at The Emirates.
Kolasinac impressed as Arsenal secured a 5-2 victory over Benfica in their Emirates Cup 2017 opener on Saturday as the Bosnian made his first appearance at the Gunners’ home ground.
And Wenger has revealed that he has been very happy with the start to life Kolasinac has made since he moved to Arsenal this summer.
Speaking at his post-match news conference at The Emirates on Saturday evening, Wenger said: “I think he has gone, in pre-season, from strength to strength.
“He started a bit nervous, but every single week he moved his level up and in the last game was already good and today again I think he was influential as well.
“The first two goals came from him. He looks powerful and the timing of his availability going forward was very good.”
Arsenal kick off their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Leicester on 11 August as they look to start the season with a win.
The north London side missed out on Champions League qualification last term when they ended up fifth in the Premier League table.
